John Libretti Featured in 30 Under 30 Annual Spotlight

Congratulations to Managing Director, John Libretti for being featured in Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal’s 30 Under 30 in Real Estate Annual Spotlight!

What is your greatest professional accomplishment?
So far, my greatest professional accomplishment took place last year, when I exceeded my 2021 goal of originating at least $10 million in debt financing by year-end and ended up closing in excess $35 million in loans the second half of the year.

How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry?
My contributions to the company/industry include expanding the firm’s clientele and increasing business opportunities, while generating more revenue. Additionally, I maintain strong relationships between my clients and lenders, in order to streamline the loan process between all parties involved for an efficient closing experience. I also provide the most competitive debt options to my clients in order for them to maximize their returns, which in-turn impacts the industry.

Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career?
The strongest influencers in my career are Progress Capital’s founding partner, Kathy Anderson and her partner, Brad Domenico. Both have provided me with the confidence, tools and resources I need to reach my potential for a successful path ahead.

What impact has social media / networking had on your career?
Social media has had a profound effect on my career, especially Linked-In and Instagram. As they are an effective tool for not only promoting my work and accomplishments, but it also keeps me current with industry news and upcoming events for networking to expand my reach.

What unique qualities and or personality trait do you feel makes you most successful in your profession?
I feel that my unique quality is how good I am at networking. I am an outgoing, driven, personable individual who genuinely enjoys working with people and I guess it’s evident to others. I once read a quote and have always abided by it. It read “People will forget what you said and people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. When it comes down to it, people ultimately choose to do business with who they like and trust. I firmly believe that the most powerful tool you have in creating success in your life, is to treat others the way you would want to be treated and always appreciate anyone you speak with or meet.

Who do you feel was most influential in your life when choosing this profession?
I would say my grandparents, who have owned multiple large multifamily properties in Brooklyn, NY for over 40 years. Visiting the properties and learning about the real estate business always left a great impression in my mind, which I believe led me to my career.

What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young executive graduating from college today?
My advice is simple. If you want something in life, all you have to do is have the mindset to go for it and you’ll get it! Do everything you can today to make your future better tomorrow.
